Looking for a way to shut off the screen on your Amazon Echo Show?
It’s actually very simple – just say “Alexa, shut your screen off.”
When you do, the screen will fade out and go totally blank. This will stay that way until you ask for something else. Note that this doesn’t shut off the microphone – the device is still listening. It just means that the screen won’t be on and won’t be a source of light in your room at night.
Here’s a demo of me shutting off the screen on my own Echo Show.
How to Wake the Screen Back Up Again
If you want to wake the screen back up again, you can either ask her directly to wake up or you can ask for any kind of command. For example, you can say “Alexa, good morning.” She’ll pop right back on immediately and be ready to respond to your commands.
So that’s how you can shut off the screen on your Echo Show, and also how to get it back on. This can be helpful if you don’t want to have the light on at night or if you just want to save power by not having the screen on all the time. Give it a try and see how it works for you!
