How Long Does a Sonicare Toothbrush Last? My Personal Experience

When it comes to electric toothbrushes, the Philips Sonicare toothbrush is a high-quality and long-lasting option. But how long exactly will it last?

The Philips Sonicare toothbrush is well-built and can typically last for about five years.

In some cases, it may even last longer. This is because there are no openings on the toothbrush, and it is not used for long periods of time.

Sure, you brush twice per day (right? right???), but each session is only a few minutes. That helps Sonicare brushes to last longer than you’d expect. I’ve personally owned a Sonicare toothbrush that lasted 8 years, and it still worked fine.

Toothbrush vs. Brush Heads

In addition to the lifespan of the toothbrush itself, it’s important to consider how long the toothbrush head will last. Ideally, it should be swapped out for a new one once a month to keep it fresh. This is easy to do as the head detaches from the main body of the toothbrush.

As the toothbrush ages, the battery may not last as long, and it may need to be recharged more frequently. This is a sign that it is time to replace the toothbrush.

That’s why I ended up ultimately replacing my 8 year old Sonicare. The motor still worked fine, but the battery couldn’t hold a charge.

Conclusion

Overall, the Philips Sonicare toothbrush is an incredibly long-lasting brush that can stand up to the wear and tear of daily use. With proper maintenance, you can ensure that your Philips Sonicare toothbrush lasts for years to come.
