I recently bought a house, and I had to wait to get my window treatments – that’s when I found Redi Shade temporary blinds.
Redi Shade offers different light-blocking versions, and the room-darkening version I got completely blocks out the light.
Using the Shades
The shade is made of thin paper, and it’s easy to cut to the desired length with a pair of scissors. There’s also sticky tape on the back of it, so you can stick it to the window.
You can then use the clips that come with the shade to clip it off at the bottom. When you want to open it, you can bunch it up to the top and clip it.
I’ve been using Redi Shade for about a month and a half, and it’s held up well. It sticks to the window and provides a good measure of privacy. If you’re doing any interior renovations or if you need temporary blinds in between painting projects, Redi Shade is a great option.
Installation: 4/5 – Comes in a bunched up piece and is easy to install with sticky tape and plastic clips.
Light Blocking: 5/5 – Fully blocks out light.
Durability: 3/5 – The material is thin paper and can tear easily.
Customization: 5/5 – Can be customized to the width of the window.
Privacy: 4/5 – Provides a good measure of privacy.
How We Tested it
The product was tested by installing it onto a window in a bright sunny day and observing the amount of light that was blocked out.
The material was tested for durability by rolling and unrolling the pleats and attaching the plastic clips and observing if it easily tears.
The product was also tested for how long it can stay up and provide privacy, and it was observed that it can stay up for a month and a half or longer.
