It’s a great feature; it keeps these locked. But what you want to do is squeeze these in and then just push this little piece towards open and then it pops open.

You can use this to prune fairly large branches. It has a little area to catch sap as we cut here. Not a problem on this tomato plant. You can see quite a lot of good strength on there. The blade is nice and sharp, and does a great job of pruning all kinds of different things in the garden.

It can cut all the way up to small branches on a tree, or all the way down to the smallest branches on something like this tomato plant that needs to be pruned a bit. It has a little sticky action as it pops open, but overall really good action there. It has a nice design which allows it to cut through some pretty substantial branches.
