Swiffer Wetjet Hack – Reusable Pad With Microfiber Cloth

Introduction: Using Your Own Swiffer Pad

Swiffer pads can be expensive and sometimes even have strong, undesirable odors. In a previous video, I showed how to use your own Swiffer pad instead of constantly purchasing reusable ones. In this blog post, I will provide more detail on this topic and how to create your own cleaning solution for your Swiffer Wet Jet.

Materials You Will Need

First, purchase a pack of Amazon Basics microfiber cloths. These are a cost-effective option and are excellent for picking up dirt and dust on the floor. The Swiffer Wet Jet has a Velcro attachment on the bottom, making it simple to attach a microfiber cloth instead of a standard Swiffer pad.

Preparing the Microfiber Cloth

To prepare the cloth for use, fold it in half. You can choose to wet it in advance if you prefer, but it is not necessary.

Attaching the Cloth to the Swiffer Wet Jet

Place the Swiffer Wet Jet on top of the folded microfiber cloth, allowing the Velcro to catch the fibers. Apply a good amount of pressure on top of it to secure the cloth to the Swiffer. Move the Swiffer around to smoothen it further.

Cleaning the Floor with Your Custom Swiffer Pad

With the microfiber cloth securely attached, use the handle on the Swiffer Wet Jet to spray water on the floor in front of you. Then, clean the floor with ease using the custom pad.

If you find that the cloth moves too much during the process, fold it into thirds instead of halves to reduce movement. Once you get going, the Velcro should hold the cloth well.

Reusing the Microfiber Cloth

When you are finished cleaning, remove the microfiber cloth from the Velcro attachment. You can wash the cloth and reuse it multiple times, saving you money on purchasing Swiffer pads.

Conclusion

Using a microfiber cloth as a custom pad for your Swiffer Wet Jet is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution. It not only saves you money but also guarantees a high-quality clean for your home.
